Pantry Essentials*
Here is a list of some must-haves for a gluten- and dairy-free diet
- Canned and boxed beans and lentils: Great source of protein and fiber for savory dishes. Look for brands that are low in sodium and have no added sugar.
- Dried fruits: Unsweetened dried cranberries, and raisins (enjoy in moderation due to natural sugars).
- Gluten-free baking mixes: Simplify baking with pre-mixed flours for pancakes, waffles, or bread.
- Gluten-free flours: Almond flour, coconut flour, oat flour (if tolerated), brown rice flour.
- Gluten-free grains: Quinoa, brown rice (if tolerated), sorghum (check for proper packaging).
- Healthy fats: Olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil (for cooking and salad dressings).
- Non-dairy milk: Almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk (choose unsweetened varieties).
- Non-dairy yogurt alternatives: Coconut yogurt, almond yogurt (choose unsweetened varieties with live cultures).
- Nut butter: Unsweetened natural peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter (check for hidden added dairy).
- Seeds: Chia seeds, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds.
- Sweeteners: Stevia, monk fruit sweetener.
